Make it Count: Coaching for Inclusion

August 20, 2019

Attention all JCI Malta members and followers! 👀

We are currently looking for delegates to attend our upcoming fully funded Erasmus+ project which will be focused on inclusive coaching.

This training course will tackle the issue of inclusion and give tools to the participants to increase the level of participation of young people through a more inclusive approach in their work. ‘Coaching for Inclusion’ will also focus on how good quality coaching will increase the active participation of young people in the organisation and the youth projects implemented, especially by those young people who are considered as ‘at risk’ from being marginalised from mainstream society. This training course will use a hands-on approach and non-formal methods of education to assist the participants to understand the different types of inclusion and methods of how to deal with them. This will help the participants to understand what the role of a coach within the area of inclusion should be and give them tools to work with when working with young people.

Through this training, the participants will increase the quality of their coaching and also learn how to work with young people at risk of exclusion because of their culture, beliefs and ethnicity among others. Coaching for Inclusion will also result in more inclusive projects being implemented with young people at risk and other minorities on a local and European Level. Coaching for Inclusion will also give special attention to provide space where participants will design, plan and implement activities on their own. This will create an environment where participants can acquire and implement new skills.

Apart from the above-mentioned issues, this training course will also contribute towards making training and education accessible to all as stated as well as tackling the social inclusion aspect as stated in the EU’s renewed framework for European cooperation in the youth field. The training course will thus be focused on addressing these 3 main pillars; social inclusion, youth participation and education and training.

This training will assist the participants to acquire the essential skills needed to enable themselves to enable others with whom they will be working within their organisations.
